Hertfordshire Gala Concert
Beaumont’s Music Department took 75 singers to the Hertfordshire Gala at the Royal Albert Hall on Sunday 11th March. The Gala is a biannual event held at the Royal Albert Hall which involves secondary school and primary school choirs across Hertfordshire coming together to perform a large-scale work accompanied by the Hertfordshire Schools’ Symphony Orchestra, in which five of our students play regularly. This year the Music Service commissioned composer Will Todd to write If I had Wings, a story about Icarus and his father Daedalus, with words by Michael Rosen, who came to narrate the work as well. The afternoon concert was a great success and a fantastic experience for our students.
