Reports

Our reporting system is designed to provide parents/carers with clear and timely updates on students’ attitude to learning, academic progress, attainment, behaviour and attendance; keeping you informed and involved in your child’s education.

Reports complement the real-time information that is available on My Child at School and discussed at the yearly Consultation Evening.

Year 7 – 11 Reports: Explanation of Grades

= Excellent   = Good   = Less than expected   = Concern

Behaviour

E. The student’s conduct is excellent. They are able to work successfully alone, in pairs or in groups without teacher intervention. Their behaviour is a role model for others.

G. The student’s conduct is good. They follow instructions promptly at the first time of asking. It is very rare for the teacher to need to remind them to stay on task or not to talk.

L. The student sometimes requires teacher intervention to stay on task and to complete work. The student’s behaviour requires managing during a lesson to prevent it from being distracting.

C. Without repeated intervention, the student’s behaviour has a negative impact on their progress and that of other students. Classroom sanctions are routinely used.

Effort

E. An exemplary student. They are always well-prepared for lessons and contribute to the very best of their ability. They work with persistence upon all tasks and respond positively to teacher feedback.

G. A student who is well-prepared for lessons and shows a good level of engagement. They make contributions in class and do all that is asked of them.

L. A student who is usually prepared for lessons but could contribute more. Organisation and engagement may be lacking at times. They show little initiative or persistence.

C. The student is often ill-prepared and poorly organised. Their learning is passive and they do not contribute effectively to lessons and do no work beyond the minimum.

Home Learning

E. All deadlines are met. Work is of a very high quality and reflects the student’s best efforts. Tasks occasionally go above and beyond what is expected.

G. All work is completed, in line with instructions and deadlines are routinely met. Some tasks may have been submitted late or incomplete but this is rare.

L. Deadlines are frequently missed. Work is attempted but not always fully completed in a manner which reflects the student’s ability. The student may have an occasional piece of missing work.

C. Deadlines are rarely met. The student may have a number of pieces of missing work.
