Secondary Transfer
Each year, in Autumn Term, Beaumont hosts an open evening for pupils in Years 5 and 6 and their parents.
‘There is something special I saw in Beaumont seven years ago when I applied, and I hope you do too.’ – Year 13 student
Due to a reported increase in Covid-19 cases in the local area, we are putting in place additional precautions to ensure Covid-safety for our visitors and staff.
The Headteacher’s speech will now be a video presentation, available on this website. The opportunity to visit the various subject areas and facilities around the school site will go ahead with the safety measures listed below.
Our Secondary Transfer Evening this year will be held on Wednesday 6th October 2021 from 5.45 pm to 8.45 pm. During the course of the evening, prospective students and their parents/carers can tour the school, accompanied by student guides, and visit demonstration activities in the various departments.
A plan of the site showing the various departments you can visit can be viewed here.
On-site parking is available but limited. Visitors may prefer to use the pedestrian entrances to avoid potential congestion.
We are also able to offer prospective parents and students tours of the school on Friday 8th October, Monday 11th October and Tuesday 12th October. Bookings for the morning tours can be made during the Secondary Transfer Evening.
Covid Safety
- We ask that all visitors wear face masks (unless they are exempt) in enclosed and public spaces.
- We have introduced more one-way systems around the buildings to ease the flow of visitors.
- We are opening more rooms to avoid overcrowding.
- If a venue is becoming crowded, visitors may be asked to visit another part of the school and return later.
Please observe social distancing where possible so that all staff, students and visitors feel safe.
On the advice of Public Health England, we cancelled the Headteacher’s talks in the school Hall but we are able to show you a recording of a rehearsal:
If you are unable to take part in our Secondary Transfer Evening, these video presentations (produced last year when lock down measures were in place) will tell you more about joining Beaumont and why Ofsted has rated us an ‘Outstanding school’.
