Excellent teaching and training nationally recognised

A partnership between Beaumont and Sir John Lawes Schools has been announced as one of only 11 providers to support the delivery of the Chartered Teacher Programme. The Programme, led by the Chartered College of Teaching, the professional body for teaching, celebrates the excellent practice occurring in classrooms every single day.

As a provider, Beaumont and Sir John Lawes Schools will play a crucial role in working with teachers across Hertfordshire and surrounding areas to achieve Chartered Teacher Status with the launch of the next cohort in April. This includes supporting teachers with training opportunities and highly-skilled mentors. The 15 month programme will be based at Beaumont School in St Albans and is open to teachers with at least three years of experience, who have shown that they are working at a high level and have a strong commitment to professional development.

Martin Atkinson, Headteacher of Beaumont School, and Claire Robins, Headteacher of Sir John Lawes School, said: ‘We are delighted that our schools are working together on this exciting new project in collaboration with the Chartered College. Most importantly, the Chartered Teacher Programme will enable dedicated local teachers to develop their practice and to do an even better job of providing an excellent education for the young people of our region.’
