Music
Students in Year 7 will be set 10 questions per week on their Google Classroom. These will be based on Music listening and theory and designed to recap class content and provide students with opportunities to practise applying their knowledge. Short research tasks will occasionally be included. Home learning should take no longer than 20 minutes. Students are also strongly encouraged to participate in the many extra-curricular opportunities on offer from the Music Department.Key Stage 3
The Music Department provides each GCSE student with access to ‘Focus on Sound’ online, where reading, listening and theory tasks will be set regularly. Some home learning will also include online assessments. Additional websites such as musictheory.net provide students with an opportunity to develop their theory and aural skills. Students are expected to practise their instrument(s) regularly and complete composition tasks. Extracurricular ensembles and ‘Music Clinic’ are designed to support students’ development in these areas.Key Stage 4
