Economics & Business
Students will be set one piece of work each week. Typically the work will take 30-45 mins to complete. Students have access to a digital textbook and lesson resources on their Google Classroom. Home learning may involve making revision notes, creating key terms lists/flashcards, and wider reading to improve their business knowledge with articles from sources such as the BBC and Financial Times. Students may also be given revision and retrieval tasks as they approach topic tests and internal exams to ensure they consolidate learning across the two year course. When studying for their exam unit students will be set weekly home learning tasks on Google Classroom which may involve making revision notes, answering exam-style questions and making key terms flashcards to help to consolidate learning and develop exam technique. While completing the coursework units, all of the work must be done in the classroom under controlled conditions. During coursework modules, there will be research that students must complete as home learning involving conducting market research, creating mood boards and designing questionnaires. Detailed descriptions of the work will be set on Google Classroom so students have the relevant preparation done in a timely manner throughout the coursework units. It is important that students understand that this type of preparatory home learning is crucial in terms of achieving the assessment criteria for coursework units and this will impact their overall grade for the qualification.Key Stage 4
