Design & Technology
Students will be set 2-3 home learning tasks within a 6-7 week rotation. Students should spend 30-45 minutes depending on the tasks given. Students will expected to complete the work in their booklets or online. Activities will include research, designing, reading case studies/articles and completing literacy-based tasks, as well as revision activities such as mind-maps, questions and quizzes. Each subject within the Design and Technology Department will be using a variety of online platforms to complete quizzes: Seneca, Quizzes, Kahoot and Blooket. Key Stage 3
Students are expected to spend 30-60 minutes weekly. Food and Product Design use Seneca, Quizzes, Kahoot and Blooket for retrieval practice. Food, Product Design and Textiles will ask students to complete GCSE-style questions, revision, recall and retrieval based activities. Further reading of case studies/articles about artists/recipes and developing a range of research techniques will also feature. Students will go through in–depth design processes (research, product analysis, design specifications, design section, manufacturing specification and evaluating products, including their own products made in school). These home learning activities will enhance subject knowledge in preparation for coursework and exams.Key Stage 4
