The school council makes a positive contribution to the school. Student opinion is sought on a range of issues. For example, governors seek students’ opinions of how well subjects are taught and areas for development as part of the school’s rigorous tracking and monitoring of teaching and learning – OFSTED 2014Student Voice
Student Voice makes an important contribution to the life of the school community.
Last year students were represented in leading the school in a number of areas, including: The Beaumont Leaders programme was also established, with Year 8 students organising a Colour Run for the Willow Foundation, which raised over £1500. They also contributed to developing the school’s initiatives on single-use plastic and recycling as part of St Albans Sustainability Festival, including a Water Aid awareness-raising day. Key Stage 4 students have contributed to Senior Leadership Team meetings on a regular basis and have instigated review and development of the school’s uniform rules and behaviour policies. In 2019-20 Beaumont hosted a zero poverty conference for local schools The school’s Governing Body is closely involved in the continued development of Student Voice.
This September, Year 13 students proudly launched Beaumont Speaks to Year 7, introducing the creation of Beaumont’s first-ever Student Parliament. This exciting initiative will provide further opportunities for student leadership and ensure that student voice is at the heart of what we do.Beaumont Speaks!
