VISION
Our aim is to educate young people, and provide them with enriching experiences, which will allow them to become active, caring and confident citizens, who contribute positively to society and lead rewarding lives.
We will meet this by helping each young person to enjoy and excel within a diverse, inclusive, innovative and dynamic school community which is committed to:
- Being a safe and caring community in which every student can thrive;
- Providing outstanding learning opportunities within a truly broad, balanced, and knowledge-rich curriculum;
- Promoting an ethos of equality, diversity and inclusion, with opportunities for all members of our community, regardless of their ability, background or culture;
- Being a centre of academic, artistic, cultural, and sporting excellence;
- Providing a model of intelligent, thoughtful leadership in secondary education;
- Being a place where educational professionals are trusted with autonomy and able to build great careers;
- Providing young people with opportunities to develop an awareness of the world and a concern for the environment;
- Valuing and trusting students and staff as individuals with their own strengths and interests; and
- Investing in the long-term happiness and success of our students, whichever paths they choose.
We hope that every student who leaves Beaumont does so with:
- a sense of pride in their and their community’s achievements;
- an understanding of their responsibilities;
- a hunger for knowledge and learning; and
- an awareness of all the opportunities that they have experienced.
STRATEGIC PRIORITIES
We will continue to maintain and promote Beaumont School as:
- a nationally-leading non-selective comprehensive school;
- which continues to provide outstanding opportunities and quality of provision for our local community; and
- which increasingly shares its outstanding practice beyond Beaumont.
We will achieve this by…
- Maintaining our unique ethos: Maintaining our unique, supportive community ethos through a period of change and instability;
- Providing outstanding opportunities for our students, staff and local community: Ensuring extensive curricular and extra-curricular programmes, which develop and inspire our students;
- Championing equality, diversity and inclusion: Ensuring equal opportunities for all students and staff, including work to improve the progress, experience and achievement of disadvantaged students (including pupil premium);
- Completing our ambitious capital investment plan: Completing our premises development plan over the next five years to ensure outstanding provision for all students and the local community; driving forward our ambitious building programme including a performing arts centre
- Working with other schools: Expanding opportunities for our students and sharing our outstanding practice through appropriate collaborations, whether formal or informal, with other schools in St Albans and beyond;
- Budgeting and fundraising: Sustaining the school’s financial position and outstanding provision through prudent budgeting and appropriate fundraising; and
- Being recognised for all that we do for our students, staff and the wider community: Ensuring that Beaumont’s reputation for all that it achieves is recognised as widely as possible.
