Music in the Community
We believe that community and collaboration are at the heart of good music making and there are opportunities throughout the year for students in all year-groups.
In December, Beaumont singers and instrumentalists traditionally entertain St Albans shoppers with Christmas carols to raise money for charity, with festive performances in Christopher Place and Morrisons.
Following an invitation to perform as part of the St Albans Civic Service, in October 2023, the Mayor, Anthony Rowlands, was full of praise, describing the Chamber Choir’s performance as “poignant and exquisite”. The Chamber Choir and solo instrumentalists also perform annually for St Albans residents at the Jersey Farm Day Centre and at the Sandridge ‘Silver Threads’ Over 60s club, where many listeners remark on their professionalism.
Beaumont’s ‘Summer Samba’ club is another highlight of the year, accompanying the school’s charity Colour Run and annual Sports Day. The band is also invited annually to lead community groups and other local schools in the Wheathampstead Village Day parade.
