Phased return of students, commencing Monday 8th March
There will be a phased return of students to school, in accordance with Government guidelines, to ensure that all students are able to undertake a Lateral-Flow COVID-19 test prior to their return to in-school education.
An explanation of the phased return can be found here. Students will receive information about their return to school in an on-line assembly which will take place on Thursday 4th March. Parents will receive more details of the phased return process in due course, which may include updates to the plans outlined below. The table below summarises the planned sequence of transition from remote learning to in-school education for each Year Group.
Monday 8th March | Students in Years 10, 11 & 13 are tested in school (returning home afterwards) | Years 7, 8, 9 & 12 continue with remote learning |
Tuesday 9th March | Students in Years 7 & 12 are tested in school (returning home afterwards) | Years 8 & 9 continue with remote learning Lessons for Years 10, 11 & 13 commence in school |
Wednesday 10th March | Students in Years 8 & 9 are tested in school (returning home afterwards) | Lessons for Years 7 & 12 commence in school |
Thursday 11th March (onwards) | Testing for any absent students | Lessons for all Year Groups take place in school |
In accordance with the Government directive, students will receive two further tests in school. Details of how this will be conducted will be published shortly.
Students will be expected to wear face masks (unless they are exempt) in classrooms as well as communal areas when they return to school.
