We are proud to be part of the St Albans BeauSandVer Sixth Form Consortium, comprising three partner schools: Beaumont, Sandringham and Verulam Schools.
BeauSandVer has been providing a wide variety of after-school and evening courses over the last ten years for children, parents, family members, teachers, and anyone in the wider community.
- Modern Foreign Languages (Spanish, Italian, German, French)
- Arts and Crafts classes (including Woodworking, Art Textiles, Acrylic Landscape and Oil Painting, Creative Writing, Roman Latin and Culture)
- Music (a community choir and jazz band)
- Employability Skills Classes
- Children’s classes (Science Club, Dance, Music Band and Coding Club)
Classes are held on site at the three schools. All courses are partially subsidised by the BeauSandVer Consortium and we aim to keep prices as low as possible. The courses on offer for Autumn term 2019 for parents and other members of the community are:
At Beaumont School:
Beaumont’s evening language classes are for adults. Develop your conversational, reading, writing and listening skills with experienced adult teachers. Almost all are native speakers. Classes are stimulating, friendly and fun, with the focus on developing conversational skills alongside reading and listening. Classes run for ten weeks per term and are structured to run for three terms during the year, providing 30 classes in total.

Art Textiles & Creative Embroidery course
Ms Lloyd’s Art textiles & creative embroidery course for adults and sixth form students on Wednesdays from 7.30pm to 9.30pm. This is a very enjoyable class where you can learn new techniques and create your own pieces. Lyndsey is an inspirational and gifted teacher. She inspires students to experiment and develop skills and ideas using fabrics and other materials.
Tuesdays with Mr Polding from 7.30pm to 9.30pm, fees £100 for ten weeks. We are now running classes on Thursday evenings as well due to increased demand. The range of equipment available on the course is tremendous and the tutor brings a wealth of knowledge and experience.
At Sandringham School:
Pilates, Gentle Yoga, Community Choir, Jazz Band, Acrylic Experimental Landscape for Beginners, Oil Painting and Portraiture for Beginners, Super Science Club for Children in Years 5 and 6, Coding Club for Children in Years 5 and 6. Street Dance and Contemporary Dance for Children in Years 3 to 6.
At Verulam School:
Certified Level One Course in Skills for Business and Administration/Intro to Working in Health and Social Care/Introduction to working in Film and TV Industry.
Functional Skills English, Functional Skills Maths, Succeed and Get that Job, Creative Writing, Intro to Latin and Roman Culture, School Music Band for Children in Years 5 and 6 and Verulam Book Group.
